I LOOOOOOOOOVED this shoot, especially since it was with one of my very best friends ever, Kristy! I met her back in 7th grade, but didn't really start hanging out with her all that much till a few years later. That's mostly because the first memory I have of her was her biting this guy's arm in the middle of class, haha! Anyways, but the other reason this shoot was so fun was because we got to go down on Utah Lake while it was frozen! Looking across the lake, it made the snow look like it was going to go on forever! I wish I did more shoots on it! Anyways, enjoy Kristy's gorgeousness! :)

Savanna

Over Christmas break, I convinced my photography teacher to let me borrow this awesome Tamron lens, so of course I had to grab some people and go take some pictures. So I talked Savanna into letting me take some pictures of her, even though it was snowing like crazy that day, haha! But she was a total sweetheart about it and kept smiling even though it was super super cold! But seriously, Savanna is awesome, and super dang cute, wouldn't you agree? I met her back in junior high when I used to help do make-up and stuff for plays :)

So when I first started this shoot, i'm not gonna lie, i thought it was going to be a disaster. It was super cold, snowing, and my camera was getting so cold that the light meter decided it didn't want to work anymore. They all had super good attitudes about the whole situation so it actually turned out super fun and super cute! I had a blast shooting them! Hope you guys had an awesome time at Sadies! :)

P.S. My personal fav is still the first picture on this post, hahaha, the guys faces are classic!

THS vs. AF

Once upon a time, I got to go help take pictures of my high school's football game. After it was over, I decided that sports photography is definitely something I'd LOVE to do. I'm not saying i'm amazing at it, no, not at all, but it's sooo much fun being that close to so much action! Well....except when you almost get tackled. There was one point I was focusing on getting my exposure right and framing the guy with the ball correctly, then suddenly I realized that he was getting closer and closer super fast! Thank goodness I moved, else I seriously think my camera and me would be dead right now. But still, way fun :)

About Katie

I absolutely adore everything about photography. My whole life I've always loved art, but I can't draw or paint to save my life. Crafts are okay, just don't always turn out as cute as I thought they would. So when I decided to take my first photography class in high school, I was so happy I finally found my kind of art.

One of my favorite things about photography is how you can capture a person's personality then have a way to show them how beautiful and amazing they really are. Growing up I had quite a few friends who struggled with self esteem and body image issues, and ever since then it's been my goal to show people how great they are so they don't have to go through the pain of not liking themselves. I feel like photography is one of the best ways to do that. But not the kind of photography you see in magazines that are edited beyond belief. I try hard not to edit out reality in my pictures, unless it's a pimple :)

To be completely honest here, I never know what to write on these about me things, haha, so we'll see how this goes :)

I'm Katie Fairchild :) I'm eighteen (1/2) years old and have grown up in Orem, Utah my entire life. I just recently graduated from high school and will be moving up to Idaho to attend BYU-I in a few months.

I've always loved photography! When I was little, I used to steal my mom's camera and take "family pictures" of my Barbies. I really started getting into it though in high school when I took my first photography class. Just learning how to tell a story through capturing one moment was so awesome :)

Now through photography, I'm on a mission to show everyone the beauty I see in the world around me, especially the beauty I see in people.
