Today's Inspiration: Charles Clay
So Charles, I actually know Charles. We had an entrepreneurship skills class together this last semester and got put in the same group for the 100 business challenge. I remember one day our teacher told us to turn to the person next to us and tell them what our dream job was. I knew nothing about him at this point, so I just started going on and on about how I want to be a photographer and while I'm saying all this he just starts smiling and shaking his head. I finally shut up and asked him why he was smiling. That's when I found out he does photography and thought I was insane for majoring in it, haha. Whatever, that's his opinion, i've come to respect that. So this guy, he does photography on the side and is absolutely amazing at it. Learned a ton from talking to him. Check these out:
Love all his work. Check out his site here.

Inspiration Wednesday #5
Today's Inspiration: Brittany Dewester
Brittany is another person I randomly found on Flickr one day. She's a lot like Rosie Hardy in the way that she takes self portraits and stuff, but the difference between the two is the feeling they bring to their pictures. Brittany has more of a bright, happy, colorful feel that I absolutely adore. As I've been trying to figure out how I want my photography to look, she's been a big inspiration in the way that she uses light and color. I was looking through her work one day and stumbled upon this:
Gorgeous, right? So me and my roommates decided it'd be fun to make something like this one. Here's my favorite:
Super fun :) Love love love her work. Here's a few other things she's done, enjoy!:

Inspiration Wednesday #4
It's probably obvious from the last few of these, but music and music videos inspire me quite a bit. Today's Inspiration Wednesday is no exception.
Imogen Heap
This girl, wow, she's fantastic. I kind of panic when I've met people who haven't heard her music before 'cause it's just that good and I instantly have to fix that. Here's a few of my personal favorites:
(this one technically is Frou Frou, the band she used to be in, but whatever :) )

Inspiration Wednesday #2 and #3
Soooo...I may or may not have gotten a little behind on my Inspirational Wednesday. But, I'm about to make up for all that right now with two instead of one, yay! :)
First of, Rosie Hardy!
Rosie Hardy is this amazing photographer that I just randomly found on Flickr one day. Her stuff is AMAZING! Her creativity is off the charts! What makes it even more amazing is most of her stuff is self portraits. Gosh, that just blows my mind. Here, I just have to show you some of the amazingness:
Amazing, right? Absolutely love her work! Totally inspires me to do crazy things with my photography. I mean, imagine if someone's senior pictures looked like that! That'd be so sweet!
Next, we have Sigur Ros:
I'll admit, the first time you listen to a lot of Sigur Ros stuff, you're probably going to think it's sorta weird. I sure did. But after giving them a fair chance, it's a band that's really grown on me. They're super chill and great to listen to while editing :)

Maybe just a little competitive.....or vain...
So if any of you have been cool enough to scroll all the way to the bottom of my blog, you probably noticed the links I have to other photographers I love. One of them is Fizzy Lizzy Photography. Lizzy went to the same high school as me, and I've always loved her photography. She has this old school vintage thing going on that is seriously beautiful. Anyways, so she's doing a giveaway for a free photo shoot, and I'd love some new pictures of me to put up on the website I'm working on. So here's the blog post that gives me more points towards it.
But really, go check out her blog, she's fantastic:

Inspiration Wednesday
Some of my very favorite photographers take a day a week to post things that inspire them. It's awesome to see where they get their inspiration from. This always makes me start to think of "Where do I get my inspiration from?" So in an effort to figure that out and also help me in my quest to find my style, I'm going to start doing my own inspiration day: Inspiration Wednesday :) I'm super excited about this, you have no idea! So without further ado, here's my first one:
Death Cab for Cutie
I absolutely adore Death Cab for Cutie! My favorite thing about them is definitely their lyrics. They start out talking about something kinda random or ordinary that then moves into this super deep theme and creates a beautiful song :) But most of all, their music videos are awesome!
Especially this one:
I can't count how many times I've drawn trees with music notes growing off of them or something like that because of this music video, haha! It's just awesome!

Emily and Morgan
Are you ready to see my first engagement shoot ever?! And I couldn't have asked for a better couple to do it with. I met Emily my sophomore year of high school and we instantly became super good friends. I call her my older sister :) Anyways, before this shoot the last time I saw her was probably a year ago, so I started jumping for joy when she messaged me asking if I could do her engagements. I had an absolute blast taking their pictures! They are seriously the cutest and most perfect couple ever. They are so in love, and was glad I got to capture that with my camera. Thanks Emily and Morgan! :) Hope everything continues to go well with all the wedding plans and wish you guys all the happiness in the world!

Old Favorite
Just looking through some old pictures and stumbled upon one of my favorites I completely forgot about:
Ok, not the best version of it, but that's because it was scanned in on a not so great scanner. I took this my junior year of high school in my very first photo class ever. The entire class was film. So when I got this shot, barely knowing at all what I was doing, and not being able to see the result until I was in the dark room, I was so happy I got something decent! This picture holds a near and dear place to me because of that and just reminds me how much I've learned since then and also how much more I still need to learn.

Editing
Yesterday, I started my first day of college. Wow, can I just say college is awesome? So in my free time between classes, I've been playing around in Photoshop with a few pictures just learning how to get different effects I like. Here's some results:

Ryan - Provo, Utah
As I said in my sneak peek for Ryan, seriously, this shoot is where I fell in love with shooting in the morning. The lighting is stunning! I'll wake up early if it means lighting like this! Anyways, enjoy!
